Here to stay. This is also true of FIBO, which will remain a child of Cologne. An agreement to this end has now been reached by the organiser, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, and Koelnmesse Ausstellungen GmbH, with both parties agreeing to an early ten-year extension of their current agreement to 2032.
"Since its move to the Rhine, FIBO has developed into one of the fastest growing leading trade fairs in an international comparison. One success factor for this is undoubtedly the trade fair location of Cologne, which with its location and logistics offers an excellent basis that a trade fair like FIBO needs," says Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO Reed Exhibitions Germany.
FIBO CEO Silke Frank also underlines this: "Since moving from Essen to Cologne in 2013, the world's largest trade fair for fitness, wellness and health has grown from 80,000 m² to 160,000 m². The number of exhibitors and visitors has also almost doubled in the past six years. This makes FIBO the world's most important trading centre for the sector". Last April, more than 145,000 visitors and over 1,100 exhibitors from 133 nations travelled to the Rhine.
"With FIBO, we are delighted to have tied a leading international trade fair to our location in the long term. Reed Exhibitions' decision in favour of Cologne underlines the confidence that the organisers have in Koelnmesse's efficiency and further positive development," said Cologne's Exhibition Director Gerald Böse.
"As Managing Director of Koelnmesse Ausstellungen GmbH, which is responsible for our guest events, I am particularly pleased about the successful and long-term cooperation with Reed Exhibitions," says Sandra Orth. "The decision in favour of Cologne shows that we not only offer outstanding exhibition halls in top locations, but also that our cooperation with Reed Exhibitions has worked out very well in recent years. This is a good basis for ensuring FIBO's future success in close cooperation".
